Home / VOC Testing
Not every indoor air problem is mold. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are chemicals that come off paints, flooring, furniture and building materials, and some can cause long-term health effects. VOC testing finds out whether they are in your air.
Testing the Air for VOCs
We use specialized sampling equipment to determine whether harmful VOCs are present in your indoor environment. It is often the right test after a renovation, new flooring or cabinets, or new furniture, or when a chemical smell lingers that does not match mold.
- Renovations and new materials: paints, adhesives, flooring and building materials release VOCs as they cure.
- Lingering odors: a chemical smell rather than a musty one.
- Symptoms with no mold found: when air quality testing for mold comes back normal.
VOC testing is one of our additional environmental tests and can be added to any mold inspection.
