The Environmental Mold and Mycotoxin Assessment, or EMMA, looks for mycotoxins as well as molds. It is the test clients usually ask for when their doctor wants to know about mold-related exposure in the home.

What EMMA Testing Measures

Like ERMI, EMMA uses DNA-based analysis of dust collected from the home. Where ERMI covers 36 mold species, EMMA tests for 10 molds and 16 mycotoxins, the toxic compounds some molds produce. The benefit is information about the mycotoxins, not just the molds.

Why We Never Perform Remediation

Florida Statute 468 requires mold assessors and mold remediators to be separate licensed entities. Quality Mold Solutions is strictly an assessment firm. We identify, document, and report. Remediation goes to a contractor of your choosing, one with no relationship to us.

This matters because when the same company assesses and remediates, the financial incentive to find more mold (and recommend more work) is built into the business model. Our structure removes that incentive entirely. Every finding in our reports reflects what is actually present in the property, nothing more and nothing less. When remediation is complete, we can return independently to verify the work was done correctly through our Post-Remediation Verification service.
